Excellent First Scale Helicopter Fuselage
The box arrived in Washington State about 2 weeks after ordering. The fuse appeared to be packaged well, and the box arrived undamaged. Equipment: I used a Trex 550X (with a cut down Align 700 boom and torque tube), swings 690 main blades, 105 tail blades, scorpion 120A ESC 1600-1800 head speed, 6s 5000 pack, 5 to 7 minute flight times. In my build I reversed the main rotors to CCW, flipped the tail to the left, top tail control rod, top rudder servo re-mount. Magnets were installed to hold the hatch securely without need for screws. Pros: this is a fairly spacious fuselage for modern mechanics. . The tail "pod" allows the tail to be mounted left or right easily. The hump along the top of the boom made it easy to get the carbon tail control rod top mounted and internal. The pre-cut windows fit really well and were easy to install with E6000 adhesive. There is no "floor" in the cabin area allowing easy mechanics mounting on a couple layers of foam (also adhered with E6000). Cons: there were a couple small spots where the paint was cracked from inside pressure. Also the seam between the two halves in the top rear of the doghouse did not have glass over it - I suggest glassing or otherwise reinforcing this seam right away or it will split as mine did. After reinforcing the ceiling in the doghouse I ended up with some decals covering the flaws. Summary: a beautiful model, with excellent paint quality, excellent landing gear, very light model - about 3.5 pounds all told. Looks amazing in flight and on the ground. Would buy again.
